Catstronauts – Cats in SPACE! https://bigbossbattle.com/catstronauts-review/ https://bigbossbattle.com/catstronauts-review/#respond Fri, 06 Mar 2026 14:00:29 +0000 https://bigbossbattle.com/?p=89326 Cute games are something I love, and Catstronauts fits the bill of being both cute and being a game where we all work together — which is a big plus. This co-op, two to four player board game has everyone becoming a space cat, equipped with their own character and player board, which has a […]

Turnbound – You turn me right bound, baby https://bigbossbattle.com/turnbound-review/ https://bigbossbattle.com/turnbound-review/#respond Fri, 06 Mar 2026 12:42:08 +0000 https://bigbossbattle.com/?p=90220 The actual game has you placing tiles on a grid that will be used to attack your enemy with the goal of reducing the character themselves to zero health. At first you’ll have a few empty slots and a couple of items to place, but after a few rounds you’ll have access to a lot more space and equipment to tinker with.

Kill Hitler in under 30 mins with Valkyrie: A Black Orchestra Game https://bigbossbattle.com/valkyrie-a-black-orchestra-game-review/ https://bigbossbattle.com/valkyrie-a-black-orchestra-game-review/#respond Thu, 05 Mar 2026 20:19:54 +0000 https://bigbossbattle.com/?p=90234 Valkyrie: A Black Orchestra Game, designed by Philip DuBarry and published by Tabletop Tycoon, is a fascinating return to one of the most thematically charged cooperative games of the last ten years — but this version has a sharper focus, a shorter playtime, and a design philosophy that feels like a deliberate response to the […]

Forgive Me Father 2 is an incredible throwback that hits all the right notes https://bigbossbattle.com/forgive-me-father-2-review-2/ https://bigbossbattle.com/forgive-me-father-2-review-2/#respond Thu, 05 Mar 2026 14:00:07 +0000 https://bigbossbattle.com/?p=88071 Forgive Me Father 2, developed by Byte Barrel and published by Fulqrum Publishing, is a blood-soaked, Lovecraftian boomer shooter that builds on the foundations of its predecessor with sharper combat, deeper madness mechanics, and a more refined visual identity. It’s a sequel that builds upon what worked the first time around and tries to push […]

Everwarder – Not Quite a Glowing Success https://bigbossbattle.com/everwarder-review/ https://bigbossbattle.com/everwarder-review/#respond Thu, 05 Mar 2026 13:19:17 +0000 https://bigbossbattle.com/?p=90306 I want to like Everwarder, I really do. If I had to give it a genre label, it would be tower-defense/rogue-like… It doesn’t quite capture what the game is about, but it’s the closest box I can find. Everwarder drew me in with its simple but charming pixel graphics and tinkly soundtrack, and kept me […]

I Hate this Place – Strong words https://bigbossbattle.com/i-hate-this-place-review/ https://bigbossbattle.com/i-hate-this-place-review/#respond Wed, 04 Mar 2026 19:00:14 +0000 https://bigbossbattle.com/?p=90085 This wouldn’t be so bad if melee was viable, but it’s unbelievably janky. Swinging your bat at enemies seems to damage them, but there’s little feedback, and the same is true of enemies attacking you. I thought I was holding off a giant spider well enough, only to realise in the aftermath that I’d lost ninety percent of my health.

Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is the anthology this classic series deserves https://bigbossbattle.com/mortal-kombat-legacy-kollection-review/ https://bigbossbattle.com/mortal-kombat-legacy-kollection-review/#respond Wed, 04 Mar 2026 14:00:18 +0000 https://bigbossbattle.com/?p=88480 For the first time in what seems like years of reviewing remakes, rehashes and “classic compilations” I am delighted to report that Mortal Kombat: Legacy Kollection is more than just a cash-grab retro compilation — it’s a curated, interactive museum that chronicles the rise of one of gaming’s most iconic and controversial franchises. Even better […]

Deathground – An Unexpectedly Slow Extraction Game https://bigbossbattle.com/deathground-revew/ https://bigbossbattle.com/deathground-revew/#respond Tue, 03 Mar 2026 14:00:26 +0000 https://bigbossbattle.com/?p=88727 If, like me, you’re a fan of cool dinosaurs in games then Deathground might have been on your radar over the last few weeks. Ever since I played the Turok series for the first time I’ve been hooked and Deathground sounded interesting enough as a concept to pull me back into another dino-themed game. The […]

Warhounds Playtest – In for a woof time? https://bigbossbattle.com/warhounds-playtest-preview/ https://bigbossbattle.com/warhounds-playtest-preview/#respond Tue, 03 Mar 2026 13:41:49 +0000 https://bigbossbattle.com/?p=90226 Even though it’s only a small slice of the full game, Warhounds does demonstrate some promising gameplay. The turn-based tactical missions are serviceable, if a little simplistic when compared to other games. You’ll move from cover to cover and abuse overwatch to take out groups of enemy soldiers.

Defenders of the Wild: Critter Moon – More Bite, or Just More Fur? https://bigbossbattle.com/critter-moon-review/ https://bigbossbattle.com/critter-moon-review/#respond Fri, 27 Feb 2026 21:24:21 +0000 https://bigbossbattle.com/?p=90455 When Defenders of the Wild first hit my table, it brought claws, teeth and a fierce identity to the co-operative space. Now, with Critter Moon, the forest fights back with added variety and a small new twist. But is this a howling success, or just more fur on the same frame? From Outlandish Games, Critter […]
